Seasoned, former Fitbit executive brings deep digital healthcare and consumer technology experience to help inform product strategy and scale overall reach
DALLAS, TX — (September 17, 2020) — Naturally Slim® (NS), a digital behavioral health company focused on metabolic syndrome (MetS) reversal, diabetes prevention, and weight management within the employer-sponsored space, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Tim Roberts to its board of directors. In his role, Roberts will provide strategic counsel to inform the company’s continued growth and innovation.
Today, more than 42 percent of Americans are obese and 46 percent will suffer from a diagnosable mental health condition in their lifetimes. NS’ mission to support participants and teach the necessary skills to improve their physical and mental health is now more important than ever. As the company continues to broaden its impact and further develop its product roadmap, Roberts’ guidance will be instrumental in propelling NS to the next level. He will work with top executives and other members of the board on a variety of key initiatives, initially focusing on accelerating the company’s expansion and overall reach. In addition, Roberts will provide unique insight to inform NS’ high-level product vision, largely focusing on hyper-personalizing the NS user experience.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Tim – a true visionary and industry heavyweight – as a new member of our board of directors,” said Rob Butler, Chief Executive Officer, Naturally Slim. “He is a true gem whose unmatched expertise and impressive, proven track record is not only rare, but unrivaled by anyone in the industry. As we continue our mission to help improve the lives of millions, Tim’s deep interest in behavioral health and remarkable prior success in scaling high-performing product development teams, not only makes him the perfect addition, but will also be vital to our future operations and participant-driven strategy.”
With more than 27 years of industry experience, Roberts was previously the Executive Vice President of Interactive and Design at Fitbit, Inc., where he was responsible for developing and scaling product management, UX design, UX research and data science. After joining the company as one of the first employees, Roberts helped grow the brand to more than 2,000 employees, reaching over $2 billion in revenue and successfully completing an initial public offering. Prior to Fitbit, Roberts was the Vice President of Product at Odeo, was a part of the team that created Twitter, and worked at companies such as Yahoo!, Organic Online and Lotus.
“Today, as mental and physical health remains top-of-mind for many, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s critical that consumers are armed with the proper tools to better manage and maintain healthy lifestyles,” said Tim Roberts. “Naturally Slim has developed a clinically proven and successful curriculum that participants can access anywhere and anytime, delivering truly life-changing results. I’m excited to join the board of directors and work closely with the executive team, leveraging my years of industry experience to further expand the reach and revolutionary impact of Naturally Slim, while enhancing the lives of millions.”
